ABOUT THE BEAN

AK-37 was created to celebrate the classic side of specialty coffee. While our blends have traditionally leaned towards brighter, more acidic profiles, this one takes a step back towards the coffees many of us grew up drinking, bringing together Brazil, Ethiopia, and Costa Rica in a rich, full-bodied expression. Expect intense chocolate, tobacco, roasted nuts, and a soft acidity, with enough sweetness and complexity to keep the cup interesting. Scoring 85, AK-37 is especially at home in milk-based drinks, but makes an exceptional old-school Americano when enjoyed black.

FARM STORY

The name AK-37 carries a little piece of Red Berry history. “AK” comes from the initials of our founder, Abubakr Khan, while 37 is the number of the building where Red Berry first established its roastery and began its journey. The blend was created as a tribute to those beginnings, combining the traditional comfort of a chocolate-forward coffee with the quality and precision of specialty sourcing. Built from coffees from Brazil, Ethiopia, and Costa Rica, AK-37 brings together three origins in a profile that feels familiar, yet distinctly Red Berry. First launching exclusively at the Experience Lab before becoming available for retail, it is a blend rooted in where we started and where we are today.
